Road to Observation Point 28 x 20

This narrow slot canyon is on the trail to the top of a rock formation, which looks over a significant portion of the west end of Zion Canyon. It is significantly higher than the more famous “Angels Landing” trail, but from the top you can observe hikers making their way to this more dangerous vantage point. On this trail I have seen more mountain sheep than any other place in the canyon. There are two choices here, the slot canyon ahead, which often in places has waist deep water to wade through, and after a difficult (but interesting) hike ends with cliffs so steep you would need ropes and climbing gear to ascend. Or the other trail which starts out of the picture to the left of the photograph and winds its way along a ledge above the slot canyon and emerges to a beautiful area around the corner.
