This petroglyph shows a small group of Rocky Mountain sheep. It was the custom with local tribes to create images of the animals they wanted to hunt for food. It was believed that this would ensure a more successful hunt, which would provide food; leather hides for clothes and bones for tools. The relationship between the humans and animals was a sacred one, with only enough harvested to provide for their needs.
