After an exhaustive time eating the leaves of the eucalyptus tree for breakfast, this koala is ready for another nap. Most of its time is spent eating and sleeping, with as little activity as possible in between. These small marsupials, (although called bears, they are not of the bear family) live exclusively in Australia, and although in generations past they were hunted extensively, they are now protected, with many populations being quite extensive. Although not aggressive, the large claws combined with the strong leg muscles to assist with tree climbing can leave a person injured from an encounter, as with all wild life, observe, but leave alone.
