This old Inn is said to be the oldest Bed & Breakfast facility in the west, It is in a picturesque location and sits on a acre of gardens. It has been in operation from before the civil war, and is still welcoming guests today. It is in the area affected by the California Gold rush; although there were a few deep mines, most of the gold was found by surface mining along the creek bed. There are a number of small towns in this area, each serving the needs of the miners, until the gold ran out. Because of the wealth generated by the mining, there are a lot of highly decorated houses, in these towns. Unfortunately, a lot of them are now in desperate need of restoration, but are a reminder of better days gone by.
