Description

This cliff dwelling is well protected on this rock shelf in the Southern Utah desert. The natural arch in the rocks provides a superb roof and is great protection from all winds rain and heat. The Ancient Puebloans built this in about 1,200 AD. The largest alcove contains three round and one square living structures, with rooms behind for storage. This construction is of mixed origins, some from the Anasazi and some from the Kayenta peoples. This is most likely because this location is almost on the border of the two cultures.
