Hiking across the desert sand, we get our first glimpse of some unique rock formations. From here we see the red toadstool contrasted against the yellow of the cliffs behind. These formations were created when hard layers of rock were deposited on top of softer ones. The effects of erosion over time have carved the shapes into toadstool like sculptures. These formations exist on a barren section of the desert, where rainfall is rare.
