From a vantage point on the north rim of the Grand Canyon we see the mighty Colorado River some 2080 feet below, as it flows down the canyon. The river has cut a deep channel in the rock as it made its way downstream. From this vantage point we can see the course of the river as it has found the path of least resistance on its travels. The great variety of rock colors and formations make each stop along the canyon a unique and even dramatic exhibition of the power of one river on the landscape.
