Sitting majestically above the sands of the desert, these rock formations have eroded into these mushroom shapes, because there is a hard layer of rock on the top softer layers. Over geological ages the softer rock has been weathered and left just the column below the harder layer. It has left a number of interesting formations in the valley, with some in this area, which are a red color, while in the adjacent valley; there are a number of white ones. They stretch the imagination as we contemplate their very existence.
