Description

In some desert canyons there are formations often referred to as toadstools. These form when a hard rock was deposited on top of rock, which is softer. Over time rain, wind and other erosive elements have worn away the softer under rock layers. The softer rock below the harder layer is somewhat protected from the elements; leaving a capstone of hard rock balanced on a base of softer rock. Each toadstool is unique in its formation, giving the viewer a visual feast of amazing shapes.
