Kanab Creek 84 x 24

Almost 2,000 feet below this plateau, the Kanab Creek has cut a deep canyon as it joins the Colorado River. This is a remote part of the north rim of the Grand Canyon and is reasonably difficult to get to, even with properly equipped off-road vehicles. During the return from this trip I came across some people who has ventured into this location without the necessary off-road tires; they had totally destroyed one tire and did not know how to put a spare wheel on. This was about 48 miles from the nearest highway, and with no mobile phone service for at least 25 of those miles, it could have not turned out well for them. For the less experienced desert traveller be aware; some properly equipped vehicles can have 4 flat tires in a days journey.
