Slick Rock Waves 28 x 20

As erosion works on these rocks, we see the sedimentary layers being exposed. It reveals the patterns made many years ago as the different layers settled on the bottom of the waters where they were formed. Cracks in the rocks allow soil and moisture to penetrate in sufficient quantities, to support some trees and other plant life. Below the rim we are standing on is Parunuweap Canyon through which flows the Eastern arm of the Virgin River. The hike through the canyon is a strenuous 20-mile hike, with no access points once you begin the journey. But this is a really scenic area with many different dramatic scenes.
