Shrouded in the early morning mist we see the colorful homes of Ketchikan Alaska, as we set sail for destinations afar. This is mid summer, which is a time for the may visitors who come to this location to quickly see the most northern State of the USA. The lights of the boats and reflections of their hulls brighten the dark waters of the harbor. This is the time for visits to glaziers and other activities for the more adventurous traveller. Here we can see lumberjack felling competitions, Native American totem poles and many other skills being on display. Just inland there is an abundant selection of wildlife to see and photograph. It is protected from the major storms by a number of islands on the seaward side.
